"Our kind of Christian"

This has to be completely un-PC, but it is a phrase my best friend and I have used since we met each other. What does it mean? It's simple, really. It means people who are seeking something more than themselves, seeking purpose, seeking hope... their personalities and demeanors happen to align with ours. This is in no way to insinuate that me or any of my friends are better than anyone else. This is just where I, Tyler Miles, find community, acceptance and understanding.

I have found this sort of authenticity to be rare in the Christian community. A place where doubts are encouraged and questions are a friend. It's a safe place to figure out who we are and who we were created to be. And it is as simple at that. There are no categories, no judgments, no ultimatums. There is only safety and the reminder that you are where you are meant to be and you are loved. And there are absolutely no caveats to that.

And you might see that as narcissism or false humility and I wouldn't try to argue with you because I don't know. All I know is what I, Tyler Miles, believe to be true.
